Picture: Lorne Campbell / Guzelian The 158th annual Britannia Coco-nut Dancers pictured before dancing through the streets of Bacup, Lancashire on Easter Saturday. The tradition, which includes dancers having their faces blacked up, goes back to the early days of coal mining in the area and the miners using coconuts to protect their knees and elbows. Picture: Lorne Campbell / Guzelian Neil Hulme, a family member and director of Oldroyd's rhubarb growers in Carlton, near Wakefield, West Yorkshire, picks this year's crop of forced rhubarb. The Oldroyd family has grown rhubarb in the `rhubarb triangle' of Rothwell, Wakefield, and Morley, since the early 1900s. The three day event started today (Tuesday) and ends on Thursday. Competitors travel from all over the world. There are two types of croquet, golf croquet and association croquet. The last wolf in Britain was killed at nearby Humphrey Head in the former county of Westmorland in the 14th century. The company is in its 189th year of brewing beer in the town.

Picture: Lorne Campbell / Guzelian The annual harvest of the apples in the orchard at Ampleforth College, Ampleforth, North Yorkshire. The College's monks have grown apples for over 200 years and for most of that time, grown them for eating. In the last 15 years, they been used for making cider and most recently apple juice, which they sell commercially. Picture shows Father Matthew Burns, picking the apples.
